broken lower manifold bolts

So, I'm an idiot and misread my careful notes about reinstalling my lower manifold...and broke off 2 of the bolts by torquing them too high. It's always something.

Any suggestions? On how to get them out and where to find new ones?

I should have an extra set around here somewhere, but I've torn the garage apart and can only find one out of the ten I should have. Surely someone somewhere has an extra one they're selling, but I have asked Google, to no avail.

Thanks for the help!

Re: broken lower manifold bolts

For anyone is in the same position, searching for these manifold bolts, I found some at O'reilly's in the green area of the bolt section.

My bolts are M6 1.0, and they had some there like that.
My original ones don't have threads all the way up, and the new ones do, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Also, the new ones are 45mm, and my original ones were 50mm from head to tip...with a few mm of smaller, no-threaded area at the tip...so functionally they are almost the same length.
Both are "8.8 class."

Now, if I can just get the broken ones out.

Re: broken lower manifold bolts

yea sometimes if the break is just right you can take a small tool and slowly twist them backout else you have to use a broken bolt kit

Re: broken lower manifold bolts

I've broken more than my fair share of EZ outs, so I'm taking this one slowly.
Between my super tough forward bits and my combo reverse bit/extractor set, I'm making slow progress...and I've only broken one bit so far...not inside my bolt.

I have the same problem but with upper intake manifold bolts and I can't find any, even at a scrapyard.

Re: broken lower manifold bolts

Did you actually break them or are they just corroded and nasty? I had to take a tap and die set to several of my bolts, but they came out good enough that I didn't have to replace them.
I never did find upper ones, but I didn't look very hard either. You might be able to find someone on here who will sell you an extra set they have laying around.
