01 Mustang V6 having issues

So I have an 01 mustang 3.8L and its giving me issues. It idles and runs fine, but when I try to romp on it a little, it sputters and the engine bogs. The injectors have been swapped along with the plugs replaced, wires, fuel filter, and air filter. Can someone help me out before I drive this car off a cliff?

When you say injectors swapped do you mean new oem injectors or newer higher lb rating injectors? And it sounds like a dirty maf to me.

Straight swap, not new but cleaner. Whats the best way to clean the MAF? An exhaust shop blew out the exhaust and it runs way better. Its was sputtering in all ranges, but once they did that, now it only sputters when I try to get on it.

Check engine light on? Clean the maf by buying maf cleaner at any auto parts store and spraying the sensor with it.

Yea, its on, but its due to a leak in the EVAP system or a faulty EVAP canister. Havent found a leak yet so I am assuming the canister is going bad, but not totally sure yet.

Re: 01 Mustang V6 having issues

Use Maf cleaner ,you can get it at the parts store , you just spray it on ...
do you have a CEL ?? COULD BE A FAULTY MAF sensor ? fuel pump , low fuel pressure ... but I'd replace the Fuel filter first and see if that helps .......

None that have been found bro. Had 1 shop pull codes, and a different shop pull codes and run full diagnostics. Only thing that came up was 0455 as the code relating to an EVAP leak.

Try cleaning the maf. See if that fixes it

K, sputter is about 99% gone, but, the engine still feels sluggish. Runs tons better otherwise. Any ideas on that?

Thats what I am thinking, but the diag didnt pull anything up. However, they do sound bad, like they are hollow or something. I am going to pull my exhaust monday night since I am off work that night and see what I can see. I have a feeling that is part of the problem just because of the way it sounds.

I wouldn't doubt it, its a hole in the wall muffler shop that did my car. Gonna cost $730.00 for 4 new cats from auto zone. Unless you know some where to get them cheaper. Was thinking about cutting out the back two and just running straight pipes with only the two front cats installed. Thoughts?

eBay is my friend . And a cel eliminator goes on your rear two o2 sensors to keep the check engine light off. and ou can pass emotions as long as no one looks under your car. Hole in the wall inspection places are good for that
