Re: Doesnt like these exhaust

If you kept your cats those mufflers would sound way better. I have the same mufflers with cats and the y-pipe and it sounds pretty good. Nice and deep at idle and in the lows and has more of a 350Z pitch to it in the upper rpms. Not too droney and not too raspy. I've gotten a lot of compliments over the years...quite a few from v8 owners.

Every off road piped exhaust with the Pypes mufflers gets really high pitched and loud, as with most off road exhausts on the v6's.

I'd go back to having cats...that's the biggest issue with your exhaust sounding like crap.

Well everyone has been telling me this so I'll do it. What cats should I look into? I don't want high flows. I want real cats

Uh the only cats I know of are your stock 4 cats (2 pre cats and 2 primaries) or hi flows, which are godly expensive for what you're getting. I say pull a stock catted y-pipe from a junked 94-04 v6 (the stock exhaust is all the same) and throw it on your car. If you want duals cut the stock y-pipe off and weld the 2 pipes to your cats, DON'T remove them.

If you really want to keep the y-pipe then have an exhaust shop fabricate your piping from the muffler back to one pipe mating to the stock y-pipe.
