I think with the right bits you can get over 300+ rwhp while still NA. Without trying all that hard I'm at 255 rwhp....if I had done the 4.2l striker with my other mods I'd definitely be over 300 rwhp!!

So a 3.8 with cams, headers, exhaust, and my CAI should produce 300+ hp?

Just a CAI. Just barely got the car so I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. Debating on 3.73 or 4.10 gears with an 8.8 t-lock

Crazy man if that was true you would see a lot of v6 beast cars. Engine building is a art not every car is the same and you gotta know hot build them.

Bhp ain't a number to brag about. Hp and torque are numbers to brag about. When your talking to someone you don't tell them I got so much bhp. You tell them I have so much hp and torque.

Well..you are kinda right there..except that all hp ratings put out by manufacturers is bhp not rwhp. The new 5.0 Mustang is 412 bhp not rwhp...so when a new Mustang owner says they have 412 hp...in fact they are probably really about 350-355 rwhp....

Sorry. But the new mustang doesn't loose 50hp in the drivetrain. And I've seen three stock ones dyno at over 400 to the wheels.

Well it's either not stock or Ford is under rating as all rear wheel drive do loose at least that much through parasitic loss in the tranny and rear end...

They don't lose 50 hp
They lose 15 to 20hp and at absolutely worst cases they can lose 30 through the drivetrain. If your losing 50 hp through your drivetrain then your tranny or reared is f***Ed up

Re: Capable hp?

OK reading through all the posts here's a few comments:

You will not come close to 700rwhp on a supercharger. The engine is just too damn small. A procharger d-1sc is your best bet but will not get you 700. You will have to get a turbo kt. Tmaturbo makes the only ones for our car. A stall and gears will make up for that Turbo lag. You will have to tune down to about 500 rwhp for the street anyway. This is not a cheap project. It will cost about 20k for the whole setup. And supersixmotorsports, tom Moran a, and delk are the only ones wo self h/c/I packages. And to the above dyno claims on a v6: I put down about 190 with full bolt ons

A stock split port 3.8/3.9 L was rated at 193 bhp by Ford. The older pre 99 was rated at 145 I believe.

You stated it dyno'd at 400 rwhp...412 is a bhp rating NOT rwhp

Thanks for those sites. And I am really only looking for about 400 or so hp.
