HVAC Controls move

Hello all, I am a newbie to this forum, I just got a 2000 v6 mustang, and was hoping to put in a in dash sat nav type system, and was wondering if I could get a point in the right direction on shifting the hvac controls down to where the cd player is on the stock radio, so that the satnav would be higher up easier to read and operate... I have found a couple discussions on how it's done, but they are all 5 years old or more and rely on pictures that have disappeared since.... If someone could point me in the right direction I would be super appreciative.
