Will i like 4.10 gears

I don't mind gas mileage... I have a light foot if I wanna save gas. What I wanna know is will I like 4.10s? I wanna accelerate faster, and I wanna turn heads when I take off from a dead start.... Will I like 4.10s?

Well in city driving it won't make a big difference. And highway just go the speed limit (yeah right) and it won't be too bad.

6ers are nice if you put the work into them. And yeah you'll definitely be faster than newer ones

Re: Will i like 4.10 gears

4.10's will make your car feel like a whole new animal..I'd definitely suggest them, especially if you're an auto.

You'll see a decrease in highway mpg's, about a mile or 2 per gallon...personally I would be happy with that decrease as the "performance" increase is awesome.

I'm not sure you'll be quicker or dusting the new +11 v6's with the 3.7's. They're heavier but a much better performing platform. Plus one with 3.73's would be even harder to keep up with. They have a near 80-100 rwhp advantage over your car stock to stock...it might be quicker with the SuperSix package and some serious upgrades to suspension and drivetrain, as well as some weight reduction.

I'd imagine you'd be faster than 94-98 GT's before a 2011 v6.

5 speed auto transmission? I am contemplating the 3.73 gears for my 2011 v6. Supposedly there is a big ding in mpg on the highway when comparing 3.73 to 4.10. The shop I talked to suggested 3.73s because a lot of the 4.10 guys regret going that far with it.

Re: Will i like 4.10 gears

I don't think the v6 has enough usable rpm for 4.10's IMO
AND I don't think your 3.8 will touch a new 3.7 maybe out of the hole with those gears but that will be it ..........

Re: Will i like 4.10 gears

I am really interested in this subject, as my plan during the winter months when the convertible is garaged is to add gears and all, would love to hear from v6 auto owners who have either 3.73 or 4.10 and how much they love them, or wish they would have done the other etc...
