It depends on the year of ur stang but without a tune about 5-10 at the most not enough to really feel ... U should get a tuner and then it will give u more hp

Re: Cool air intake

CAI are a good start... but like everyone has told you, in itself, no big hp gains will be realized.

CAI isn't worth the money unless u include to buy a 78mm or above throttle body and a good spacer. The little things do help out in the long run. Also don't forget the more air you add , the more fuel you will need so you have to keep in mine to upgrade the fuel injectors to at least 30 lb.

Actually spacers don't do anything... Look into bigger intake manifolds and heads from supersixmotorsports.com

Re: Cool air intake

The 94-04 push rod v6's don't respond to bolt ons like the 05+ v6's do. CAI's will show minimal gains if any...for $40-70 you get a nicer piece under the hood, a simple and enjoyable mod to install on your car (great for beginners) and most importantly a sweet whistle while shifting

Re: Cool air intake

Spacers do prevent heat from the manifold and the throttle body. Less heat will help with lost hp.

Tb spacer waste of money. Engine spacer from like vap do make a difference. Cai are nice for the money. Just don't go out and spend so much on them

Re: Cool air intake

I like that you called it "cool" air intake. In reality, it should merely be called "cooler" air intake. Now, if there were an intake that really maximized the amount of oxygen that "cold" implies, we'd have ourselves a super or turbocharger

No

I'd say no. Forced induction would make hp.

Re: Cool air intake

American Muscle has this Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! on sale for $55... I got one and it fit quite well, start to finish took about 20 minutes.

I like those old ram air intakes, but they don't give you much until you start moving, right?

Re: Cool air intake

It is a shame that the sn-95's don't respond very well to bolt-ons. I haven't bothered getting a cool air intake because I've driven numerous six's with one and noticed absolutly no difference. I couldn't justify 40-250 bucks on something that does almost nothing. I had the whistle in my srt-4(whistled for a reason!), I personally don't like it, most seem to like it. I see a lot that want people to think they are boosted, but all show and no go doesn't impress me.

p.s. I'll take a blower scream anyday over some whistling.

Actually they do respond pretty well to bolt ons. However, one can't expect huge increases from just a CAI. Each bolt on does a little, then before you know it, with the help of a good tune you are making better hp and tq...but like I said don't expect huge gains from just a CAI...it takes time, money and patience....

I agree in a way...then again, I think that whistle/suction sound is awesome. I don't necessarily want people to think I have a supercharger or anything...I just like the sound of it and want one eventually
