X pipe or H pipe

Which do you prefer, sound wise. X seems raspy, H is more a deeper growl.

Here's my 2002 GT when it was stock and only had a Bassani o/r X-pipe.

Stock exhaust other than x-pipe. Stock mufflers, too.

And the HP thing with X vs. H is really only a matter with a cam swap and intake change... And it's a matter of a 2-6hp difference. it shouldn't sway you either way.

I love my x-pipe. It is a little raspy sometimes, but usually just roars.

Re: X pipe or H pipe

H Pipe

I put a MAC H Pipe on my 98 v6, and it definitely makes the exhaust growl a lot more than with an X Pipe. My future brother-in-law has the x pipe on his v6... and yes, it's a little louder, but a lot raspier than the h-pipe.

And with performance... they are honestly about the same... I have read that the X-pipe has a little better flow, but how much? 1 hp?... not enough of a difference if you ask me.

Re: X pipe or H pipe

As stated by many others, you can't gp wrong with either, comes down to just a matter os taste or choice. I have the X pipe and highly love it a lot, now if it had of been an H, I would not be disappointed, just a little of different sound, but that all. The subject is not an Argument, it's just a (Choice).
