Clutch issues

Hey guys' Having issues once again with my 00 stang. ( Can't wait to drop the new motor/ trans in - still working on removing it from my 03 ) I can put it in 1/2/3/4/5/R without a problem when the car isn't running, But when I start er up ( being in "n" ) I press the clutch in try going in any of those gears they won't go in/grind... Thinking its the clutch cable? but dk. Input please?

also would the wiring harness from a 03 ( pony package ) v6 connect right into my 00 or would it be a different beast of its own?

I havent really done anything to fix it, cause im not sure what the problem is, all I know is if I fidget with it it somehow works loose and allows me to put it in gear (usually only happens with reverse for me tho)

I've had this problem twice with different issues. Well actually 3 times. The clutch cable snapped the first time. The second time the other cable stretched. Then the clutch fork wouldn't stay in place
