Re: short throw shorter..

yea it makes your shifts faster. i have the mgw shifter and its awesome. shortened the throw by at least half, maybe more. i could even make it shorter too. install is pretty easy, took about 2 hours

Here's some pics from my install of the Steeda Tri-ax shifter on my '02 GT. The Tri-ax makes shifting SO MUCH more precise and fun. I've not missed one gear since installing it months ago. And it literally goes from 2-3 by itself. Haha.

First pic = Stock shifter.
Second = Shifter removed
Third = New Tri-ax installed with high-temp RTV sealant
Fourth = Pretty picture
Five= Bolts back down and inner boot on,
Six = Shifter neck back on, in the shortest throw position.

And thoes are basically the steps of removal and install.. Lol.

Re: short throw shorter..

for a 99-04 look into an MGW, pro 5.0, or steeda tri-ax (in my opinion that order is best to least best of the top three)

it makes a HUGE difference and you will wonder why you waited lol... the pro 5.0 and steeda have bad road noise and the reach is made worse vs the MGW (as its better all around in design)

Hey! I love my Tri-ax and I rarely hear any noise. My exhaust more than makes up for it. :p

And yeah.. I changed to an aftermarket shifter two weeks after I got my car and I was even unhappy I waited THAT long.. Lol

Re: short throw shorter..

Steeda Tri-Ax here and never looked back. First mod that should be done to a manual.
