Re: What are you bumping?

Used to? Two Rockford Fosgate Power Punch 15s in a 3 cubic foot box with an Orion 1,000 watt amp, Punch 225.2 to Dynaudio components in custom fiberglass kickpanels from Sony headunit with 2/3 octave digital EQ.

Now? Shaker 500

Cars have gotten WAY more complex since I was installing stuff as a HS kid. I like my SYNC, and I'm sticking to it!

From the speakers rattling or other stuff in the car? Mine hasn't had any issues, but I mostly listen to 90s alternative, classic rock, metal, etc; so, my bass isn't cranked up.

That's why the Shaker 500 was all I needed. Only thing I'd like to do is switch out the speakers and amp if I were to go that route, but it honestly sounds good to me.

The shaker audio system is nice. It could use a little more power in some areas.

Not right now, but if I remember, I'll take some tomorrow. I also have an alpine single din headunit, and Rockford Fosgate 6x8s all around.

Looks awesome. I haven't got around to the radio but I'm thinking about either pioneer or alpine. Both seem to have better quality than any other comps to me

Thats what I've heard too. And my alpine is awesome. Great sound quality, and the build quality is amazing too. You'll love a new headunit... It makes it sound so good.

Haha, nice... I was bumping my sub earlier at full gain, and damn! After an hour of that all I could smell was burnt voice coil. Lol

Sub-$125 from amazon (costs $200)
Box-$30 from amazon
Headunit-$160 with all install stuff from crutchfield.com
Speakers- 2 pairs for $90 total...

Re: What are you bumping?

I remember back in the day I could bump "Hypnotize" by B.I.G. and just vibrate my rearview mirror in circles. In my POS Honda, it was great. I can't imagine the worrying I'd do about rattling crap loose in my Mustang

BTW, if anyone wants some gently used, great condition Dynaudio component speakers with the original box, let me know. I can take pics too. I also have some Fosgate DVC 15s (the old school kind) that aren't the greatest looking cosmetically but can still blow your doors off. I'd let them go for fairly cheap.

Nice. I remember all of those Hifonics amps were named after Greek mythology, but I have never seen one in person.

Yea, it definitely does the job. Those subs rattled anything and everything, plus combined with my exhaust I'm surprised my car hasn't rattled to paint off.

LOVED those US Amps. They were so well made and overbuilt. For non-Class D amps, they were outstanding.

I remember getting a 1,000 watt Crossfire Class D amp that I eventually fried a MOSFET on. Those old Fosgate amps were overbuilt and underrated too. The company took a nosedive into the late 90s and early 2000s, but I'm not sure how good there stuff is now.
