I had my 05 GT for over 5 years before I found out that the cup holder has a false bottom, removable so that larger cups fit. I also figured out how to turn on the fog lights about then...

It's jut a change holder. You cal alps put a custom switch in that spot too

Its for change but I never used it so put a switch in there for my fog lights

I think cars have change holders because of toll roads. Certain parts of the country have many toll roads and a driver is constantly juggling quarters...

yep it is a coin holder, in the verts it is where the switch is to drop the top. If you have a louder exhaust it sucks because the coins rattle like crazy.

Rattling is correct it sucks. so do the cup holder coasters I have.

Yeah it's for coin. My two brothers v6 had that my gt has the foglight switch there. Guess Ford put it there to feel the space in 6's.

My cobra has the fog light switch by the e brake and the coin holder by it as well.

My GT has one coin holder, and the foglight switch in the center console. My V6 doesnt have foglights, and has 2 of those. They are pretty much useless.
