Honestly, just buy a cheap cai off of eBay if you want one... Everybody I've talked to on mustang forums has said they make such a small difference..

Just get the tuner and a cheap CAI...AM sells a generic brand CAI for around 70 bucks.

yes.. I would go with the combo...

The O/R h-pipe and flowmaster 44's are sweet too! When I'm pulling into local cruise-in's, I get a lot of people that think I have a GT with a cam and v6 badges... I immediately pop the hood and show them the 6er... cause I am not trying to hide it, but this system does sound great in the lower RPMs.. but will start to buzz a bit around 4k rpms... but it is always good to remove the restrictive cats... and a tuner will erase the check engine light after you install the O/R pipe...

definitely go h-pipe... x pipes sound way to raspy on the 6ers

All in All, you sound like you are on the right track... you say you aren't expecting it to be "as fast as a cobra" which is correct, but you will definitely be surprised at the gains these few bolt-ons will give you after you tune your car to them! I am not gonna get a tuner, because we have a guy near here that does dyno tunes for $150

yeah... I just made my own CAI... not worth $100+ for only 5 hp gains and a whistling sound... and do not go with the fenderwell systems, they don't do any more than the stock system...

The CAI from american muscle is great...it comes with all the stuff you need to install it and it is very easy to install...took me about 15 minutes.

So the basic CAI from AM is worth the money? I'm not gonna have to spend $250 on a K&N CAI?

Re: Does a V6 have potentail?

I bought there $70 one at first... it was ok... I ended up just using the filter from it and making my own system though... it has 2 90 degree bends, which is no different than your stock breather... but it still is a slight improvement over stock... probably worth the $70

Re: Does a V6 have potentail?

I strongly recommend a Windstar kit from VAPauto.com, AFTER you get a tuner from AM.

Next for me is:
Anthracite Bullitt Wheel & Sumitomo Tire Kit - 17x8 (99-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! (Ordered yesterday)
Exhaust
Springs
T-Loc
3.45:1 gears (Richmond Gear because I get a discount)

After that I will be done for a while (mostly because my "play" money will be gone).

Windstang? Oh yes!

All it is is pipes, the MAF, and the filter... I used a 60 degree pipe to attach to the TB. the pipe had holes for the vacuum line and for the sensor, then I attached it to the MAF, used a wide, but short pipe after the MAF, then attached the filter to it... so the system is only about 14" long, but also only has one 60 degree bend... It doesn't look too pretty, but it works very well.

the $70 kit from AM isn't too bad though, and definitely not a hassle to install...

I found a K&N intake system for 180 on eBay that shipped directly from k&n. Was very pleased after putting it in and my in city gas mileage was a bit better, however my highway driving was affected due to running a bit lean. I have a tuner coming tomorrow that should fix that issue.

Trust me, a generic CAI from AM is great and worth the money...you will see no difference from a generic or a bbk/k&n

Alright, with that H pipe, could I keep my factory cats? Or would I have to buy new ones?

I was waiting for someone to mention this.
Don't get a CAI save a lil more fir the windstar. Best mod I've done and I've got gears, tloc, x pipe with flows and a tuner.
I'd get a tuner first since tour an auto

You can keep your cats, but you'd have to have them welded on... don't waste your money on high-flows either!... just drill a hole through the center of the cat, and it will act as a high-flow... kinda... I have a friend who did that, and it worked fine. He got better flow, and would still pass a visual inspection if needed...

I like that too, but Bballing that is the car I've wanted my whole life. Either your 02 GT or an 07 GT, I would literally kill for those cars and I'm trying to save up for one of them now.

And this is coming from a 17 year old stand point.

Don't buy a throttle body, they aren't worth the price for our v6's... but my CAI and O/R h-pipe with flowmaster system was definitely worth it! Good luck to ya!
This is the only advice you need.
Only exceptions/options are to get 4.10 gears and PLEASE get it dyno tuned, not mail order can tunes.
Good Luck! You are going to have soooo much fun. It is a very healthy addiction!

That's awesome. It would make my day to check that out. Please try to do that real soon. Check out the rest of mine and subscribe so I know when you have some recordings finished. That's really cool. I love the sound of those mufflers on the V6 Mustang, can't wait to hear another one. Not too many of us with that set up.

I think your Plans are fine and good, Those should show you a difference in your car right from the start. As far as which one to do first, does not really matter, but make sure you do get the SCT tuner or some kind of Tuner by the end. You will need the Tuner to help it run perfect and to turn off some warning lights that will pop up when you get Exhaust with out CATS. My gears are 4.10, but i'm not sure how that will work with your V6, but at any rate, the 3.73 are not a bad idea at all. Can't go wrong either way.

4.10 will be quicker but on the highway...it will be awful on gas...3.73 will still give you some pep and be decent on gas.
