Re: Does a V6 have potentail?

-Start with a tlock/posi with 3.73 gears, a cold air intake, true dual exhaust, and a tuner... that will definitely wake up your v6!

-I did a lot to mine, but am wishing I had started with the gears and tuner first... that is next on my list. Don't buy a throttle body, they aren't worth the price for our v6's... but my CAI and O/R h-pipe with flowmaster system was definitely worth it! And everything I've done so far has increased my gas mileage too... except for the wheels/tires

-In the end, it's your ride, do what you want with it... just some suggestions from a fellow 6er!

Good luck to ya!

this is good advice. you may want to get different size gears. typically, people say 4.10's for autos and 3.73's for manuals. its all a matter of opinion

Depends on your pockets. And what your wanting to hit. If your looking for gt500 status your gonna spend a whole lot.

Alright thx for all the advice, but I just wanna know if it's really worth spending if it's a automatic v6, or should I trade/buy for a stick v6?

Just convert yours to a stick shift. There isn't too much to it.

Actually, with a tuner... an automatic transmission is pretty good. these tuners can adjust your shift points so you can run with the manuals just fine... but having said that, I have always driven a manual transmission, and love being able to just drop gears when ever I want to.

I would go with the one off AM though... They offer free custom tunes for life, so for the price, they're the best value.

Reflashing it would just put the stock tune back on, giving you no gains. If you tune it, it gives more power.

The first thing you should buy is a SCT tuner off of american muscle. When you get new gears it will recalibrate the speedo. It is a great first buy and when you get an o/r h pipe...it will throw a check engine light but if you have a tuner...the computer will know that there are no catalytic converters.

Before I even think about that, does any one know how much torque a automatic tranny can handle?

My plans are...
-H pipe
-flow master 40's
- sct tuner
-K&N CAI
-18 inch bullitt rims

Nothing to big, just till I can afford a 07 GT.

I'd do the tuner first, it'll give you a nice jump in power, firm up your shifts, and maybe give you a little gas mileage. Then, do the other mods. And if you bought the tuner through AM, they'll change the tune to give you more power with the other mods.

Turbo forged internals exhaust cam u know the good stuff... Only problem is ull spend 15000 to make what you could get out of a v8 for 10000! (including cost of the engine and swap.)
