2001 mustang has the hiccups???

My 01 mustang v6 just started acting up. It kinda seems like its bucking or like hiccups? It runs fine sitting and as you give it gas, but if your driving (any speed) and just let off the gas it starts jumping back and forth, if you hold the brake in it stops. I changed the plugs and wires, but did no change. Please help.....

Sounds like you need to change your fuel filter.

Ive been thinking of that, but will a fuel filter make the vehicle jump while slowing down? There is no problems while accelerating?

Yes it will cause it to do it while decelerating and at a constant speed. It won't affect acceleration as it's pumping fuel at high pressure.

Well changed the fuel filter, still doing the same thing. I guess I will just have to break down and take it to the local shop, man I hope they don't ring me.... Watch it be something so simple. Eerrggghh.

What have you done for mods? I'm thinking this might be a pump issue...

Re: 2001 mustang has the hiccups???

No mods done yet. Just got the car a few months ago from a friend that didn't have any previous problems. I just noticed that the rear wheel seal was leaking, so put a new seal in and filled the casing with gear oil, it took a whole bottle so maybe the gears are burnt up.
