RPMs Drop Randomly!?

Hey guys so for like the past month my RPMs will suddenly drop when I come to a stop or if I'm barely moving for example, going through a drive-thru and as soon as I start to leave they would just drop from idle to like 500. No idea what would cause this! Anyone?

Your idle air control valve is build up with 101k miles of carbon try to clean it out or just buy a new one. It should go away.

Wow... I also have the same problem on my 04 3.9. Would this also cause it sometimes idling up to 2300rpms, then taking forever to drop? (at a stop btw)

Defiantly clean it first. It's cheap and easy.

Re: RPMs Drop Randomly!?

seems the 3.8 is known for little idle issues, as said clean the MAF and IAC (idle bypass valve) that may solve it.

This happens to my 01 all the time. But I only have like 65k on it. Would this still be the problem?
