Re: 2004 v6 idles question

That's pretty odd. But the only thing that comes to mind is your IAC Valve. Idle air control. They sometimes stick. Ever have any troubles with low idle or even sometimes stalling? IAC's generally cause low idle tho not high idle problems.

Also be sure your throttle plate is not sticking and you have no vacuum leaks. Do you have a check engine light? What rpm are you stuck at?

Throttle spring shouldn't be an issue as long as the throttle snaps back to the full closed position (should hit the stopper or adjustment screw which you should never touch)

Seafoam is never a bad idea. Ive heard alot of good things. Works wonders cleans your injectors and your intake valves

Anywhere....but its definitely cheaper right now that normal....I don't know if all stores are doing the sale but I found it at advance auto for 3 dollars off (normal price is like 9.99)

And yes one can in a full tank

I put half in my brake booster vaccuum line and half in my gas tank. Cleaned intake valves and fuel injectors

Your exhaust manifold is leaking hense why you prolly hear almost like a clicking sound in a way when your car is running..

Re: 2004 v6 idles question

All good info !!!! But your RPM decay rate can be the cause, mine did the same thing had it adjusted using SCT chip It's an annoying trait, programmed into the PCM to burn off excess fuel
