Not many people will help you with this one my friend :/ all the peole tell you to get is a dual or a v8. I've tried and had to do it myself to see if it sounded good. I have a flowmaster 40 on my car and it sounds good. It's just a deeper louder stock muffler. But I mean for like 130 bucks you can't really complain

Yeah it feels a little quicker. Barely though I just like the noise it gives off when I peel out of my schools parking lot

I have true Duals on my 05 v6, with thrush welded mufflers, and they sound very similar, if not exactly like the flowmaster 40/44's, and the are like 60$ cheaper.
I did some research online and from what I gathered the thrush ate built EXACTLY like the flowmasters, feel free to PM me, and I can take a video of my exhaust if you like.

I have a single flowmaster 40 dumped before the rear axle. It's loud enough when go under over passes and through tunnels and even on the street. I've had two cops ask me if I had V8 and I tell them it's only a V6. And they look at like I'm joking. So they ask me to open my hood to see if I'm lying. So when i open the hood they get this baffled look on their face and then they walked off.

I still have the stock pipe on my car. It's just dumped under the. And it resonates underneath the car which make it a little louder than normal. But I also have ported heads BBK shorties and a mild street cam. Before I did all this work to the car, I could not even break the tires lose. And now I can't even keep rear tires on it.

Re: Single muffler flowmaster

Consider one Flowmaster 10 series instead if a single muffler is what you have to go with- just my suggestion, that's all-

But you have a dual exhaust don't you? I'm looking for a single exhaust

---------- Post added at 02:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:01 AM ----------

I like the sound of it but the dual exhaust costs a lot of money

Re: Single muffler flowmaster

All of the 3.8L engines will sound the same. doesn't matter what year, when listening to low quality videos like these it's hard to distinguish single port from split port.
Those videos are good examples of what a single Flowmaster 10 series will sound like. Those are the videos i watched the day before i ordered my Flowmaster 10 series mufflers.
-Yes, my car is divorced dual exhaust (true dual, with no mid-pipe ie:"X" or "H" pipe)

I love the sound from your car. I might just man up and get a true dual with 10s on

Wink Re: Single muffler flowmaster

Most cost effective way is to purchase two 2.5" offset mufflers and take them to a real (not Midas ect..) shop that welds and have them cut out the "Y" pipe and run 2.25" pipe to the mufflers. If you plan to get a super charger or turbo, then run 2.5" pipe to the mufflers.
