Help, Tuner Installed Wrong?

Hey everyone,
This is my first post on this mustang forums, but today I installed a custom tuned chip by Bama into my v6 2003 Mustang, and I'm not feeling much of a gain, I also have a BBK intake, any ideas?

Thanks for your input, I'm going to retake it out tomorrow and reinstall it. I cleaned it well and installed it step by step, I feel a little but that could just be me thinking I feel it.

We were just discussing this in another thread. Performance gains will be minimal unless you have alot of mods, or a power adder. If your car is an automatic you should notice a difference in the shift points, and shift firmness. In the other thread someone said you may only see a few horsepower and a few ft/lbs of TQ.

---------- Post added at 08:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:42 PM ----------

The title to the thread is 'programer performance' check it out.

I didn't really notice a difference in shift points, but I did notice one in shift firmness, I can also feel more pull(Torque) through my power band but it's not drastic but it's not too little that you don't notice. Just not as good as some of the reviews I've read on it, but those people could have also had more mods, I plan to do a windstar ported lower and upper intake along with a BBK throttle body and which to a K&N CAI. After that I wanna do a UDP aluminum drive shaft posi with 4.10 gears and a 100 shot of nitrous. Then when it comes for the time to rebuild the engine I'll acid dip it and have it bored out to a 4.2L bore(can't remember the numbers on that) add forged pistons, a custom ground cam, and polished and ported heads, also changing rods and springs also ECT. Sound good to you?

It sounds like the sound when it try to turn over the car and the battery is to low and it just clicks, but the battery is charger and the car turns over but the second I put it in reverse it makes the noise and dies, I'm going to go out tomorrow and retighten the wires on my battery. Maybe one of them came loose? I'll tell you what I find out. Also would you happen to know how I could tighten my throttle control string? My RPMS are idling very low at like .5 RPMs and I wanna get it to idle at 1-1.5

If it's idling at 500-600rpms that's where it's supposed be at.

I wonder somehow the tune cause his car not to recognize the chip in his key, which would explain it turning over, but cutting off whenever he tried to drive it.

That's half the battle anyway. Think I read a post something like 15hp and down is really hard to feel.

I'm wanting to do a windstar manifold and BBK throttle body next then get my chip retuned. I also want a different CAI right now I have the American muscle one, I want the K&N. I have a sound system that runs 800 watts so idk if my car would run well with UDPs but I defiantly wanna do true dual SLP exhaust, I hope to make 240-260hp and 250-280 torque with bolt ones but idk the possibility of that. Then I wanna add some nitrous(100 shot) for short term goals

Mines a several year plan, I need a job ATM, so I slowly put back money towards the car, I'll be turning mine into a show car as you can tell probably and hopefully I can get 11-12second 1/4 mile with the engine rebuild.

Re: Help, Tuner Installed Wrong?

you can dyno before/after

did you go with a higher octane tune (most of the power would come from this as the timing would be advanced)

Re: Help, Tuner Installed Wrong?

you can have them resend a tune for you~ not sure if there is an all or nothing on uploading of the tune of if there is a way to validate it~ you can ask them.
