Larger rims do slightly mess with the speedomiter but just depending on how big and good choice on 17" thats the size I'm looking to get in a couple months

As long as the outer diameter of the tire is the same or close to stock, it won't affect your speedometer. Wheel size won't affect it.

That being the case you will need to have your speedo calibrated.

Re: Best rims

Ill post a pic of mine sometime. There 17s, and they go well with the look of the car. Dropped a couple inches in the front and with spacers in the back will give it a nice retro look

Re: Best rims

Getting 17X9 up front and 17X10.5 in back will not be a problem. Everything will fit and look fantastic.
americanmuscle has tire size recommendations to look at. Most people go with those sizes-
255/40-17(F) & 315/35-17(R)

Ok this is from memory so feel free to do your own research but if I remember correctly. You take the first number 255-40-17. So 255 is how wide the tire is in millimeters. 40 is the percentage of the width. Thats how tall the tire is and the last number is the dia of the rim. So! If you figure out the height of the tire (times two) and ad it to the height of the rim. You get your overall diameter. Then multiply that by pi to get your actual circumference and make sure that that number is the same as stock an your speedo will be correct... you can also figure the ratio that way for speedo calibration the old fashioned way. In your head! Lol.

Re: Best rims

Sometimes what you gain in wheel and what you lose in tire height works out to be the same size as stock which means you don't have to recalibrate the Speedo.

Cool Re: Best rims

If its a cobra I would go with a cobra style wheel like the 2003 Cobra Deep Dish.

I like the rear dish on these with some nice 315/35-17 NT555 tires http://cdn.mustangevolution.com/foru...cons/icon6.gif

Thank you. I wanna have them powder coated black at some point and depending on what color the car is then (either the laser red on it now or a grabber blue color) have the pony emblem in the middle done the same as the body.
