V6 K-members same as 4.6?

Do the 99-04 V6 cars have the same k-members as the 4.6 GT's? Looking at dropping a 4.6 from a police interceptor crown vic into a V6 car.

They are different. But a great upgrade why are you putting a 4.6 one?

Not putting one in at this moment. Just for future reference. Will be looking for a project one in the future. I've got a friend of the family that has a complete set up from an old cop car. Engine trans computer and all wiring that he'll sell me for $400

Re: V6 K-members same as 4.6?

i would advise trying to get sum 4.6 wiring harness for a stang. it will be more plug and play. just converted my 6 to an 8. wiring it up is super easy.

Didn't you put a pushrod in yours though?

yea, i did. so i didnt have to change my k-member..lol. but there are a few main harnesses in the passenger side kik panel that you have to tap into. if you use a stang harness it will blow your mind how plug and play it is. and u will be able to plug into the chassis harness under the hood as well.

lastly, match the pcm to the harness. if u use a 97 harness, use a pcm for a 97 to wutever years match. i cant stress this enough. the plugs all match up on the pcm's and harnesses, but the internal grounding and switching mechanisms is not.

i pop'd n a 93 pcm in my 95 harness.... and now i have a bent rod and partialy shattered piston.

anyway, im not sure on a crown vicky harness n your car. i just know from experience if you match the harness to the car that you will find that ford did a majority of the hardwork for you.

ive done a few efi v8 conversions from tbird, stangs, & f-150. so i have a lil bit of experience
