4.2 engine

Im wanting to do some engine work on my 3.8L mustang. I'm either gonna stroke out my 3.8 to a 4.2 or pull a 4.2 out of a truck, from what I've heard those 4.2 are stroked 3.8... Anyways my question is will one bolt onto the stock tranny?
