this sounds a lot like the problem i have recently had. if it is it would be your crank angle sensor and camshaft position sensor. the crank angle sensor and camshaft position sensor are located under your coil pack assuming there arent any differences in our cars which i dont believe there would be. the sensor assembly goes in place of where there would be a distributor if it were an older car.

So you did change the belt? Could be the release bearing for the clutch. If you can push or release the clutch and affect the noise that will help you realize that it is the problem
if it were the tob or clutch the sound most likely wouldnt go away. atleast not from what ive experienced anyways.
