Power Steering Pump

I went to the mechanic because of that annoying sound. So the pump was changed, the annoying sounds were still there, so the mechaninc checked the terminal and put some wd40 on the right passenger side terminal. The screeching sound was gone, but the power steering sound was still there. He told me there was air in there and it should go away withing a few days. A week later the sound was still there, i went back and the mechanic said the pump was defective so he changed it again. A couple days later the Sound is still there, so I went back yesterday, now he says he will get a pump from a ford dealer and see what happens. IM getting really annoyed . I know mustangs have an issue with their power steering. It's an embarrassing annoying sound, basically it sounds like a pos.

Re: Power Steering Pump

I just use Mobil1 automatic trans fluid in there and replace it with new fluid as soon as it starts to or thinks about wanting to darken or change color.
I also put 2oz.'s of an additive "Militec1" inside.
Mine is silent at idle, quiet for a Ford when turning the wheels.

Re: Power Steering Pump

Yes, Mobil1 automatic transmission fluid. -With 2 oz.'s of Militec1- But, yes only Mobil1 trans fluid for the last couple hundred thousand miles.
