I want a GT Hood!

Where can I find a hood with the GT scoop already on it.? I've looked around and find hoods without the scoop.

You can always try junk yards, eBay, Craigslist. Americanmuscle sells the scoop and you need to paint it and mount it.

Prestige.com or prestigemustangs.com? Don't remember which one but it's an all Mustang junk yard in GA.

Ok so how exactly do the scoops mount? I too want the GT style scoop and I could probably get it painted pretty cheap but I always thought of the cheap ones like jc whitney sells that double sided sticky tape down. Not clean!! Also the scoops arent functional even on a real GT right? Is there a way to make them functional? Without spending an arm and a leg?

Never buy the double sided tape **** it would fly right of the gt hood is not really a air scoop it's there for looks and it's bolted on u could cut it to make it work but not a good idea lol

Ok so mounting requires drilling holes in the good? Please tell me there will be holes in the hoods subframe to be a guide.

Ok so apparently per our own forum which was the first to pop up lol go figure... We do have to drill the hood. They mount with either 4 or 6 bolts depending on the year. 99-2000 4 bolts and 01+ is 6 bolts. The best way to do this is going to be with a template... So let's all put some time in this and figure it out and post a big how to. Has anyone ever done this who can help with advice? I have a buddy of mine with an actual GT hood so I'll scope his out this weekend and see if I can make a template.

Thats a really good idea.
I'd like to know how the scoop attaches. Is there any screws for something?

Ok so what would you guys say is a reasonable price to pay for a good shape used scoop that will need to be painted say a junk yard part? And also what would be a good price for a new one?

Ok let me ask this question. If I were to email someone an AutoCad file of this template how could we go about getting it printed? I have access to cad at my work so drafting up the exact locations for a template would be a cake walk for me but how could I share that with you guys since I doubt everyone here has a cad program with which to open the file... I could screen shot it into a jpeg but then scale would be way off... And I wonder if the template would even fit on a standard piece of paper. May have to make a two page template with overlapping holes or something... Any thoughts?

I too would like to know how this works. I want to buy one before I get my car painted next month. How does the inside of a gt hood look like? Because my car came with a gt bumpers and spoiler so maybe I got a gt hood as well and I don't even know it haha.
