Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

So with these rectangle tips, are you going to mount them under the bumper? Or are you going to cut out pieces so they fit up into the bumper?

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

Its an easy mod to stick them through the bumper .. but with them being flat under the bumper be pretty cool to.. you gonna stick em out each side gas tank or wrap the tank and put them together in the middle?

I have those exhaust. They'll do alright. But seen his check engine light huh? No cats. I also have no cats. You have to get these exhaust tuned or youll be running lean, and rpms will fluctuate like crazy. As a result of bad gas mileage. Get a custom tune. American muscle has bama tuning with the SCT tuner, also with free tunes for life. Can't beat that.

I have these exhaust, for now they will stay on but I'm getting the Gt catback flowmasters. Bc the Pypes exhaust arent made to look uniform. The drain holes on the tips are way off. Basically the only problems are the tips come to think about it. However these exhaust are pretty good. In an area that echoes sounds like in the city or open hwys the exhaust sound like some kind of fast and ferious sound.

When you get these exhaust try this and you will feel the true power of dual exhaust, go about 35 mph and then go in neutral and rev the motor all the way you actually feel the thrust of the exhaust. Guess they aren't that bad....

To people who ask why put so much money on a v6 and get a v8, well later on I will and it'll be loaded like the v6 is. But for now I work on my daily driver.

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

All V6's sound like imports because all imports are V6's lmfao who's this guy?

This sound like an import to you?

And no your Rpms won't fluctuate because you cut off the cats, you either have a vacuum leak making it act crazy or a cam to make your Rpms "fluctuate" this is of course at idle, if your talking about going down the road and the Rpms actually go up and down you have a slipping tq converter or trans.....

Yes your gas mileage wil drop because your low end will be terrible now with a stock V6 and almost no type of backpressure in the exhaust.....

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

I've had 10s just to see what they sound like... They are still to "import" sounding for me, same with magnaflow, and just about everything else. Original 40s general consensus on any v6 forum are #1 for trying to make a v6 mustang sound as good as possible.

**I don't run flowmaster anymore**

Second all imports are v6s? Most of them are I4, some of them are v6's, they are also small displacement motors but whose counting?

And Personal opinion here but square tips oval tips dual/dual tips don't belong on a 99-04 mustang unless you a.) have roush side skirts (square tips) or b.) have a saleen (dual center mount)

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

It's my car smartass -_-

The only reason I posted it was to prove a point it obviously didn't sound like an import if you mistook it for a V8.... You know since you brought up the subject, yeah I'm the one who got out of line thanks for correcting me ...... Lmmfao

Lol I can see we are going to get along real good... Your car sounds nice. But next time show a little respect. And don't mock what another person says. If one thinks a certain way let em he's entitled to his own opinion. And everyone know opinions are like ******** everyones got one.

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

You don't know cars if you couldn't tell a supra from a v6 mustang....

Speaking of which supra's are six cylinder cars, but they are I6's

Back on topic please, there's no need to debate each others knowledge of cars to discuss exhaust sounds. Please be respectful of all members.

Carry on.

Re: 3.8 exhaust whats sounds best?

if you actually cut it go back over the cut edge with some ford touch up paint (of your color) around it to make it a little cleaner of a look, if you really want to assure that you don't go outside of the lines use a metal piece as your guide for the jigsaw, a little tougher to do but you can't easily go outside the line............

*Everyone* If you can not disagree with someone without being a dick then don't post. It's a simple concept. Infractions will be given from here on out for people who can not grasp that.
