Cheaper?

Would it just be cheaper to get a rear-end from a gt so I would have a posi or should I just buy a locker

Probably going to be cheaper to do a GT swap... but these 7.5" rear ends are strong enough for anything you will probably be doing with the car (at least as strong as anything I am going to do to mine)... so it's probably going to be less of a hassle to by the TLock and have it installed...

I'm getting the TLock and 3.73s for my 6er... The TLocks are a little pricey... but I'd rather keep my own rear end and add a new part to it than take the risk of installing a used GT rear that you never know what the real condition of it could be until it's in, and you may have to rebuild the differential on it anyways... Re: Cheaper?

If you have plans for the car bigger than N/A I would go ahead and swap...

I've seen whole rears go for 100 before, just have to look around, a rebuild kit (a good carbon fiber clutch kit) is $110 so not much to worry about compared to a whole diff.

Re: Cheaper?

The sixers is 205 last time I saw yeah

Btw it's undoing 6 bolts and the driveshaft to swap a rear end haha (aside from the calipers and wheels you swap over)

Re: Cheaper?

Wasn't intended for performance, just a cruiser.... That's why I like to make mine fast buwhahaha

Also something I forgot about, if you can find a ranger at the junkyard they most of the time came with posi units and some even came with 3.73 gears

Good to test out if you want to keep your 7.5 rear
