I want it to be a riceburner killer haha able to take off quick and keep the acceleration coming. But also have a program to get decent gas mileage.

lol well good luck on the gas mileage thing...you'll learn soon enough that when you start making real power you don't get to keep as much of your mileage as you'd like.

My rule of thumb when it comes to v6 stangs is No Boost No Care....if you aren't willing to boost it then don't waste your time building it for anything more then a fun DD. N/A setups are a waste (which i've seen time and time again on other sites)...

if you're wanting just to feel like you have a "rice burner killer" at a light then tlok/gears, add an exhaust...and call it a day. if you want to tackle and actual import...well...gotta pay to play

no need to waste your time on a TT setup lol...a single turbo will give you more power then you'll ever need on a street car...and yes suspension is important, but don't forget braking.

for around 3-4k you can build an outstanding turbo setup...another 1k on full suspension work and another few hundred on upgrading your brakes...

Re: My future set up

TT is a waste of money, go single turbo if anything. You'll also be wasting your money buying a CAI if you go turbo. Don't buy an exhaust kit especially if you go turbo because you'll have to rework the exhaust anyways.

So I could start of with the basic 3.73 gear, tlock, exhaust, tuner and cai to kill some Honda's while saving up for the Turbo set up... sounds like a real good plan haha how much boost should I run? 15-20?

---------- Post added at 03:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 AM ----------

Scratch the Cai cuz I'd need an intercooler right? And could u have the Turbo set up exhaust without the Turbo on yet?

Re: My future set up

15-20?!?!?! Do some homework man..... and as for the not needing a CAI because of the intercooler.... You're dead wrong on that one. Go take a look at what an engine bay looks like with a turbo kit and come back.

around 9 pounds unless your planning to tear your engine apart and forge your internals...anything more can be playing with fire...especially on an older engine

but with the mods you just listed you'll have fun...at least until you roll up to a real import guy and not your average high school kid in his moms accord...to put this into perspective...

my '04 GT with intake, flow 40s, mac o/r prochamber, suspension work, and 5 speed....was a drivers race for a honda s2000...so don't get cocky next to some of them lol

Re: My future set up

15-20 psi will work just fine on a stock 3.8 motor until you rev it hahah

What if I go the the, bored, bigger pistons, stroker kit path on the v6? Can that produce close to as much HP as the Turbo set up with less cost?

Re: My future set up

You wouldn't gain a lot besides a new motor if you did internals, maybe 5hp and 10tq with that, add in H/C/I with that built bottom end you can make some great power if tuned up right, mine made 242 on the dyno with a somewhat aggresive cam from comp... Sooner or later I'll get a bigger cam holding to see the 260ish range with it

I would look into a centerforce setup. If you're actually serious about boosting your car. If not a OE replacement will suffice...

Im pretty serious about boosting the Stang, if I'm gonna mod it out I might as well put in the work with the Turbo then settle for stock gt speed

The ram stage2 clutch I'm looking at holds up to 450hp and is $100 less then the centerforce... on my first buy I'm trying to get that, the 3.73, and the tlock for about 650

lol I know a guy who runs 35 pounds of boost. The whole engine is forged and aftermarket and he still blows a head gasket every other week. But he also puts down 600+ hp in a focus

I know some guys who run 40s+ and don't blow a HG every week.
