Haha, is this in response to that '11 destroying its driveshaft? I would stick to the 118ish limiter.

That dude in that video is dumb! To be safe 100 is the limiter. Fact is and I can't get band from on here with this but everyone at least goes up to 100 mph sometimes. Open highway late at night. It's just fun. But the dude in this video is really dumb. What a damn idiot I hope he was under his warranty.

Uh... My tires are rated at 168mph. I know parts in my car can't take that speed...

Re: How fast can a 2000 v6 go

You don't have to worry about a DS in our cars, we have the same ones as the gt's....

I did 135 once screwing around with another car lol for factory suspension it seemed to be pretty smooth and didn't float all over the road, just have to keep a watch on it, like Kyle said tires are really the only thing that you have to worry about make sure they are up to spec

Re: How fast can a 2000 v6 go

The question is why do we need to go faster then that...at the time my answer was to show an s2000 that I could give him a good fight...now I'm more or less about just cruising.

Re: How fast can a 2000 v6 go

I usually shy people away from street racing...I've had a few close calls and you either learn from it or chance bad things to come. So no matter how much I'm egged on by someone they won't get a run out of me...I prefer the track

Re: How fast can a 2000 v6 go

i like going to the track, but being over 2 hours away makes it impracticable to challenge someone to it lol sooo me and some friends setup a little quarter track on a closed road whenever we feel like going, friend works for the city so he knows all the good places and has one of those measuring wheels so we measure it out, and have one person on each to judge the mach drag races lol

all this happens on unopened non-public roads...........

Hasn't been bought yet, but I have a 80-90% chance of getting an NROTC scholarship, so once I get accepted to that, parents are trading in my car for one

High speeds are tough....mustangs aren't all that aerodynamic and eventually it gets pretty difficult to push a brick through the air. Given enough straight road and little head wind...I'm sure 130s are possible. Of course, 140 is probably possible if you base it off your spedometer...but 130s GPS verified I'm sure is possible. Will take a good bit of road to get there tho.

That's good. Street racing is for retards who usually end up killing someone, and if it were I'd have already closed it. carry on 6's.

++ nowadays it's gps verified or it didn't happen! Factory speedo can be off upto 10% so the margin gets larger the faster you go. Ppl think its off by 5 mph all the time, when it actually off by a %. Good stuff.

The tune that he has on his car has voided his warranty I'm sure.

What car is this? You mean the 3.8? It can hold 350rwhp either way after that you are playing with fire.....

Re: How fast can a 2000 v6 go

You have to think about it in the "how do I abuse the car" way...

You could make 420hp out of a turbo car, and make it into that 420hp powerband once a week and it could last you 2-3years, or it could send a rod out the block the first time you did it.

Remember Justin's 10 second junkyard block 3.8 lasted him 3 race seasons? I'm sure 3 race seasons of stress + all the dyno tuning would be about as bad as driving at least a year or so.
