V6 mustang modification suggestions?

Hello I'm 17 and I have a 2004 sonic blue automatic v6 mustang. I don't have any pics yet but im going to take some after Christmas when I put my new head lights on.
I need some suggestions on what I should do with my car..I've had it for over a year now and I'm in love with mustangs now.
Everything on it is stock except for the smoked dual halo headlights and the blue LEDGlow underbody and interior kit
I am looking forward to getting 17" tires and FR500 wheels. I am also looking into buying a cai and throttle body and probably 5% or 10% tint.
If anyone has any suggestions on stuff to do to me stang that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

Re: V6 mustang modification suggestions?

nice color...i'm on my 2nd sonic blue stang...if you ever need any ideas just ask....one thing i'd reccomend is removing the underglow...nothing says i'm not a serious car guy like underglow. I'd also reccomend removing the halos for the factory housing and a nice set of HIDs

i only sound harsh because i was 17 when i bought my first stang...and i even delved into the underglow....thank god i found a very serious mustang crowd in my state...From there i learned alot.

here's my old one

I only have the undertow because my brother bought it for me for Christmas last year and I thought I might as well keep it and I'm already getting the halo's for christmas and I don't have money now for hid's and my headlights are trash so I'm going to stick with them
And I got them 50% off on cyber monday which was a great deal

That reminds me I forgot to mention I have a custom dual exhaust that the previous owner did but it was a crappy job and the right exhaust pipe broke and both flowmasters were cracked so I had to pay like $600 and the mechanic made it into an H-pipe and installed 2 thrush mufflers

Re: V6 mustang modification suggestions?

do you mean performance parts or visual parts?

performance parts i would definitely first get 8.8 rearend/4.10 gears and a SCT handheld tuner

that shopped ripped you off...do not go back there for any more work....thrush mufflers range from $30-40 each at any autoparts stores...im guessing you have thrush welds on since they're pretty much chambered like flow 40s...they are the $40 ones.

so yeah for future reference...don't go back to that shop. about half that would of be reasonable with a mid pipe build

Re: V6 mustang modification suggestions?

the more you mod the more issues you will run into.... if its your daily driver and has to be reliable just keep that in mind. Cosmetic stuff usually is not a big issue (wheels/lowering etc)

its very hard to get the 3.8/3.9L to put out any real power without building the motor, nitrous, or a power adder of some sort.

yeah that's what we're talking about...from the manifolds back. just be sure to never go back there ok...i hate to hear people getting ripped off by shops. they think just because someone doesn't know what they're getting they can pull a fast one.

Okay thanks, my dad told me to go there and this was in early summer so I was still new to mustangs and cars in general and my dad doesn't know anything about cars really so I'll make sure to come here before anything else

Re: V6 mustang modification suggestions?

i have an 02 v6 i put a Stack's Racing cold air intake a BBK throttle body and an sct/x3 tuner (which greatly improved my performance as mine had an automatic transmission) but the mod i was the happiest that i made to my sixer is a 2.5 inch divorced dual exhaust with magnaflow high flow cats and borla stingers. I turned the tips down right before the stock v6 bumper cover so not only does it sound good it also compliments the stock appearance. This was my favorite mod ive made because not only did it wake the performance up a bit but it gave me that low rumble you expect from a muscle car, even though it doesnt sound as good as a v8 i have people fouled most of the time.
