why does one muffler sound different?

i was wondering since me and my buddy have y pipes, mine on my mustang and his on his 06 tacoma. we put the same flowmaster 40 on it and his sounds way deeper and louder than mine. why is that?

Nothing to do with the muffler, everything to do with the different engines!

unless he's swapped in a 3.8 out of a ford the sound is going to be way different

Engine, compression, cam/s, ports, CR, headers, piping, cats, mid pipe, tip. Its mostly the CS factor is what im getting at, but yeah bro

i was just wondering why though but whatever thanks for telling me i have a fail thread it really helps. i get they are different engines, im not stupid

Your gonna get teased its part of it!!!! But their are some major factors.

Ohh and a HUGE factor I forgot to add ... which is the #1 factor why the V6 sounds as poor as they do, firing order is even, so it evens out and smooths the exhaust pressures
