car shaking`

I turned my car on after work and it was shaking really bad at idle, i got out and listened to the exhaust and it was misfiring. My check engine light was on but it has been because i need to replace and 02 sensor. Do you think that could be the problem?

Thanks.

My car was doing the same thing at idle, and my CE light is on also because of the o2 sensors. Run a tank of 91 octane through it, and Lucas Injector Cleaner. It fixed the problem on my 98'.

Re: car shaking`

Which O2 sensors the fronts or the rears?

Rears don't matter, the fronts affect you A/F if they are bad...

bank 2 is the drivers side. and more than likely it is the front. the rears are pretty much useless. basically they are there for the purpose of knowing if the cats are there or not.

Re: car shaking`

it's a possibility. could be something to do with not getting spark as well.

Check your coil pack. Mine was shot. Replaed it and fixed it right away. My coil pack was so bad it had a dead cylinder an the fuel was getting very little spark. The number 2 cylinder was misfiring an pulled off the wires and found the #2 conductor was black while the rest were like a bronzeish color

At oreillys I got mine for 80 just check it first and check your spark plug wires and spark plugs. Easiest to check is the coil

And how do I check if it's ok? Just look at the wiring and look for damage and stuff?

Well you can pull each wire off the coil pack and check for any dead cylinders. It would be obvious which cylinder is dead. On mine, the #2 cylinder was black, not bronzish. If that looks fine you can try checking/ replacing your spark plugs wires and your spark plugs. After months I finally found that my coil went bad. Slapped a new one on and it ran like the day it came off the assembly line

you can pull off the boot and see if it is getting spark (be careful not to get shocked)

Re: car shaking`

I usually just run my hands down the wires whenever it misfires, always first test, no point in waiting til night time to look for sparks lol

It's not that big of a jolt....

Well that or have a garage to hide from the light in.... I guess if you thought you just had to do it now (visually) you could throw a tarp over it or something haha
