New Tint

My Christmas gift. Pulled over and warned in less than 50 miles of driving. CA frowns on this. May not last long on driver & passenger sides

Re: New Tint

that sucks... out here in south dakota they went through a phase where they were real harcore tint nazis... highway patrol had a thing they hung over your glass that measured light penetration... they were writing tickets left and right.

I have no idea what happened to change things, but they don't care anymore. The only time tint is an issue is if there is an accident.

Re: New Tint

I believe the state of California spends too much time worrying about the wrong stuff...

Got pulled over the other day on the natchez trace parkway. Because my tag light was out and they said they couldn't see in my car. It was night.?? They treated me like a complete criminal they came over the speaker and said get out of the.car and keep your hands in plain sight. I had to sit on my bumper with my hands up while they ran my license and searched my vehicle and they patted me down and took my knife out. They searched my vehicle for a long time i had a 45-70 in there it was unloaded. They checked my tint and said it was 4% odd?? Anyway i don't see why they were so scared of me and felt they needed to search me.and.my vehicle. It was a 30 minute ordeal. Didn't get a ticket though so Im happy.

Re: New Tint

I have a prescription from my eye doctor that allows me to get around the tinted window laws here in Michigan......guess that's a good thing from having to wear glasses.

Same. 5% all around and never bothered about it.

The State of Maryland has a tint law of 35%. Anything under 35 % is illegal. It really depends on the cop who stops you and if he is a car kind of guy or girl. I stop people all the time and couldn't care less about how dark the tint is. I think tint makes a car look awesome, keeps the car cooler in the summer and interior better condition with tint.

If the tint is that dark where I can't see in then I just have the driver roll down the back side window as well. No big deal.
