Personally I think it's the best!.. A few years back I had to dig into the top half of my Monte!.. The cams had next to no scarring on them!.. Car had about 150,000+ miles on it and I drive my cars real hard!!...

And yes it really is purple!!... Hahahaha

I'm a castrole gtx man tested it at my school and it keeps the higher viscosity thru all oil temps and holds it longer thru it's life than all others we tested

Re: Royal purple

FYI: RP makes an excellent oil filter.
I've done just fine the last 250K miles with Mobil1 Extended service + Amsoil oil filters.

Re: Royal purple

When I first got the car, I had to change the differential fluid 3 times before it was clear. When the gears were installed, the shop put in Amsoil gear oil. I have Mobil1 automatic transmission fluid in the T-5 transmission & power steering sump. M1ES 5W-30 in engine. Got to keep inventory of all the fluids & filters being fresh to keep the vehicle going and going, that's for sure.

Re: Royal purple

Royal Purple in the engine! Good deal- The higher quality oil will save you money with longer service intervals, protect the engine if accidentally reaches high temps, and less waste.

Royal Purple,Great oil if one plans to do 10,000 k mile oil change intervals. Or if a person is using their car on a daily or even weekly basis to race on track or road race course.

Honestly, your just as well off with castrol syntec full.synthetic. it scores a whole grade level over mobil 1. Love the stuff. Great protection, long life, cheap, and changes color quickly when its fried. Royal purple is awesome but at twice the price, ill pass. I do run royal purple in my trans, diff and coolant tho.

Yeah its ****ing crazy here. And only the performance shops carry it here. I know its good oil but its not worth it over syntec for double the price. I can get it at about 5-6$ a quart. The royal purple in my trans is 22 a quart and rear end oil is 23. Its just not worth it for oil. Their filters are 22 bux too so I fram it....

Have you tried ordering from Jegs?.. I know you will have to pay a little extra for shipping and handling, but in the end it won't be no double the price!..

I can get a case (12) for about 110$ plus 38$! shipping, plus duty on pertoleum lubricants and basic duty I'm at over 165$ for a case which isn't bad I guess but I've got a ford racing oil pan which takes 9 fn quarts. So id need 3 cases for 4 changes and 4 expensive endurance filters and ill be damn near 550$ for just 4 oil changes. I can use castrol syntec which is nearly as good for about 50 a change on a 5000-8000km (mayb more... i just check it religiously) change depending on duty cycle. Royal purple isn't that special.

Re: Royal purple

American Muscle sells the filters at great prices.
Go to Bobtheoilguy.com to compare oil spectrograph analysis. Figure out what you want/need.

Save money with longer service intervals. What do you consider longer service intervals?

Bs... royal purple is good oil but its not the second coming of jesus. Honestly, just use good oil and change it when its fried up. Longer.service interval doesn't really matter when you remember that the filter needs to be changed just as often as a normal oil...
