3.8 is no more

I am currently swapping the high mileage v6 out of my 99. I am putting in a 4.6 out of a 2000. But I have some questions. First, what do I do with the brakes? Do I keep my v6's brakes or are they the same as the gt's? Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.

Upgraded calipers and roater's arnt reallllly necessary but since you'll have 210hp instead of 150 it would definitely help your stopping power

Re: 3.8 is no more

IIRC the front and rear brakes on the 99-04 V6's and GT's are the same. Do not quote me on it but I do believe they are the same. Hopefully someone else can verify.

If the stock brakes are worn it wouldn't hurt to replace them or even upgrade to some Bullitt/Mach 1/Cobra brakes or aftermarket ones.

I would imagine you got the transmission along with the engine too, and the 8.8" rearend. I'm not sure you'd want to pair that 2v with the 7.5" open diff rear.
