02 v6 ideas

Hey guys I just inherited a white 2002 mustang. It is completely stock any ideas what I can do to it exterior, interior and motor wise. Funds are limited right now cause I just went to part time at work but I found a guy who was selling some gt rims that came off an 01 for $200. If that a good buy?

CAI, and a tune would be a good start and idk about the rims.. I would think that's a good deal if 200$ for all 4 of them. Considering rims are a good amount of money

---------- Post added at 02:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:10 PM ----------

You can plasti dip your rims also, and plasti dip your back like mine is... Nightshade your tail lights.. Just depends how you want your mustang to look, theres tons of things to do! I got matching yellow seat covers, and steering wheel cover. Get a nice system too

---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:12 PM ----------

Plasti dip and night shade are really cheap, nice looking things. An the CAI isn't too expensive, tunes like 300$ or so I think.

Thanks man yea that is what I was thinking about doing the gt rims black if I get them. Also the back of your stang looks sweet how did you do that.

I also had 2 kicker L7s in my old car but it is kinda hard to find a sub box with square holes made to fit my mustang

---------- Post added at 02:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:31 PM ----------

Is the nightshade a tint on the tail lights or a cover that goes over them. Also before you did your rims did you sandblast them or just scuff them up.

Personally I'd look for aftermarket rims, you see the gt rims all over the place, but to one his own, its all your preference.

Yes where do you buy the night shade for the lights at? Are they covers or a tint?

Nightshade is what I used to spray over them. Not covers. I scuffed then up with some sand paper, and put like 2-3 coats on. I didnt wanna put anymore on because it gets pretty dark and I don't wanna give cops a reason to pull me over...

It's with spray paint. Try home depot, Walmart, etc.

chin spoiler...tinted tails.. decklid blackout.. lower it... and no performance mods because they're a waste of time.. you spend an F ton of money on mods to keep up with stock GTs.. not worth it.

+1 on the chin spoiler. I also picked up the Mach 1 grille delete and highly recommend that. Lowering spring are easy to install and don't cost a whole lot but make a big difference in stance.

Re: 02 v6 ideas

Basically I read your first post.
Good deal on wheels if they have some decent tires on them. (Condition wise)

Mach1 Chin and Grille delete
Lowering springs or Cutting your own
Shorty antenna or cut your own
VHT tinted brake lights
Trunk lid black out
Bumper letters
Tinted windows
Black housing head lights if yours are chrome lol
Gas pedal mod is cheap as hell and a nice touch for your butt dyno
If you want some performace, if an auto look into a tuner to wake up the tranny.
5speed, maybe a short throw shifter
LED bulb replacements are always a nice touch up
HID headlgihts from DDM tunning or whatever are good
Fog lights from a GT look great to.

Instead of getting the gt fogs I recommend getting a pair from pepboys or something and mounting them behind the slits that v6s have on their bumper that the gt lights would cover, looks much better.

Yea the wheels were on a guys 70 Fastback.(did not look good on an older stang) So the tires have about 90% tread on them. I really like the chin spoiler and the delete. Those will be next in line

Stock GT fogs usually aren't in great shape, but their are options such as shaded, clear lens and you can clean them up and make them look great. Idk about putting them behind those bars ? Never seen that, idk how well that would mount. Share knowledge ?

Just make sure its the correct bolt pattern, not sure if its the same or not lol

edit: well they supposedly came from a 01 you said though. So if thats true they will fit. But idk how they wouldn't look good, thrust wheels look great on older cars !!!
