Re: Max HP

if by bolt on's you are just talking about cheap things (no heads or upper/lower intakes etc for the motor just the regular things~ probably 20 more rwhp than stock~ so .... say 30 more at the motor~ or about 180hp at the flywheel.

I'm gonna do the cheap things first and make it a true dual exhaust then get the stage 3 power pac with fully ported upper and lower intakes, fully ported heads, and cam. Says it adds 85hp but then I wanna bore and stroke it..

This is correct! You won't see but 20-30 hp with just bolt-ons. To get any real gains you will need to get inside the motor and change the cam and heads and intakes. But i have found the hard way the upper intake is worthless and will only go so far. You will need a new sheetmetal upper or something unless you go FI.

Re: Max HP

save yourself the effort and do an m90 swap or a split port swap.

Do something original and design your own intake and stay single port. With my single port I'm at roughly 310 bhp as NA then I have a 100 shot on nitrous on top of that. If u want to know my setup or want pictures let me know.

Re: Max HP

BHP: Is a number that manufactures use to rate the output of an engine. Its normally a guess (calculation from some math) if you hear somebody tell you what they make out of a modded vehicle unless its been on an engine dyno.

RWHP: rear wheel horsepower, is what most people use to compare real world numbers. Usually from a dyno jet or mustang dyno.

With bolt ons and true duals your going to make maybe 15-20rwhp over stock. (with a tune)

Uhh... It's not a guess... It's an engine dyno that measures HP at the flywheel.

I get what the point of the whole post was. Not gonna argue with that, just trying to clear up the part about bhp.

my response means he said it's a guess if they tell you the bhp after they made modifications, not the factory... not arguing at all...

Umm no guessing involved. They dyno some motors likely at random and that where the number comes from. The variance by % is pretty small I'm sure. No guessing involved. What your cars bhp is rates is is because thats where they dyno'd at in testing.

He said manufactures I'd assume he was referring to manufactures no?

Re: Max HP

The real answer is 133 HP. Those same mods and a dyno tune will bump it up to 150HP.
