+1 It may take a little longer than that at first to get all the bolts unless you have the correct tools. Took me a good hour just because I did other stuff as well and took my time and used RTV sealant. Blah blah, but it's easy and quick and the best mod you'll do for drivability.

hell while you're doing it might wanna go ahead and flush and fill the trans with fresh fluid and syncromesh...might as well since you'll have the shifter off, and i bet you're car would be happy with it

I've heard that a short shifter can screw up the syncros in the tranny if you don't adjust them? I'm not sure because I've only heard of this. Can anyone either confirm or deny this for me?

Never heard that. Just make sure that you set the shift lever stops.

There should be 2 bolts on the outside of the shifter, one on top for first and third, another on the bottom for second and fourth. Once the shifter is install, put it in third and then screw the bolt till it is just from touching the shift lever. Do the same thing with the tranny in second. Once set, tighten the backer nuts to keep it from backing out. These stoppers prevent you from damaging the shift forks in the tranny during hard 1-2 and 2-3 shifting.
