Will it work? Yes
Is it smart...? eh? sorta. the power gains you will see are actually minimal even with the roots style blower. Depending on the year of the engine the 93 Thunderbird only had 200-210 HP. SO you would be gaining 20 hp for all that work of swapping enigines... Though if you were to swap the cam and port the blower and heads/intake, you would see some huge gains, but that's more money.... IMO if you're looking for a roots style blower, get with supersix and get the M112 adapter plate and go that route.

to much work/hassle for the return on just an M90, many have done the M112 from the 03/04 cobra using a custom intake system and such. This makes more power, but the stock hood wont clear I dont believe.

Plus its NOT intercooled at all which is BAD.

Basically for the money you could build the motor with heads/intake/tune and have good power gains.

yeah the blower will stick out of the hood a decent bit

i will say this, if you want a track car only, water/meth injection and a small shot of juice will keep it plenty cool, was talking to Matt (first to start the M112 swap craze, sold his design to Mysteedperformance.com) and he said you can make 450-500rwhp with one safely if you do it right

it's not that streetable though, would run out of "coolant" quick lol

the M90 setup isn't really that great a deal as a direct swap in, but if you plan on doing a little work to it while the motor is out sure go for it, they made crazy torque thanks the blower style.... and even down the road the M90 is better than an M112 since it's made for air/air intercooling from the factory a lot simpler than water/meth

to the original question yes all the 3.8's have the same bolt pattern for the trans...

since you're keeping the auto a shift kit would be a great idea to do for extended life and better performance
