Tires for Mustang 2003 in Michigan

Folks,

I am new here...I just bought a 2003 mustang base model (auto trans.).
I live in Detroit, MI. Could you please suggest me which tires I should get for my stang? I recently moved to Detroit and hence new to snow driving. My friend told me that generally they do good job clearing the roads. Also I will be avoiding driving on interstate. I am concerned if I should get "all season" tires or "winter/snow" tires? Any suggestions? How is "Continental Extreme Contact DWS" for mustang in snow? I would appreciate any suggestions....

P.S. I am a student and would be always willing to save that extra $

The conti extreme dws is a summer only tire. You will not.be able.to safely do anything in the snow with them. You want a set of proper dedicated winter tires. I like the cooper weathermaster st2 tires. Michelen x ice are good but big $$$ there is no substitute for good winter rubber.

I run the Pirelli Pzero Nero all seasons on my 2006 and have had good luck with them. I drive 45 miles one way on my commute every day in the Detroit area.

Yes, I agree with the Continental Extreme Contact WDS tires. 255/40/17 up front and what you can on the rear.
