parts help

Sup dudes i have a few q's concerning top end modification. After two months research , a few hours baking at the junkyard, a quick stop at the machine shop, alot of cigs and a few tears and im pretty sure a case of carpol tunnel after what seems like forever hitting heads and an intake with a fifty dollar dremel im left with a few questions. first one being how do i go about working on the area behind the valve seats and the top of the combustion chamber. Also when everything is said and done what type of springs and retainers should i be using i have the r/r kit from ssms and the push rods but i didn't want to spend another two fifty for retainers and springs from them if there's a cheaper alternative. The work on the heads is very basic just gasket matched, blended and polished this is not a track car and i a'm by no means a racer so im not looking for a crazy job just a little extra. Another issue im having is how do i go about porting the top of the lower manifold because i have a windstar upper and i dont know how that going to affect things as far as port matching goes because its plastic should i just do the head sides and not the top or will that just defeat the whole purpose of porting it.the last question is pertaining to a tune. Do i need one if i dont get cam if i do need a tune then i want a cam and need a suggestion. thanks alot hope to hear from you guys

Re: parts help

thanks for the reply and the link man but my windstar swap is long done now im getting into the head work. The reason i brought it up was i because i"ve gasket matched the top of the lower manifold using the regular gasket but the windstar uses these rubber indiv. gaskets soo i need to know how to match it or get as close to as possible and its plastic so i dont even know if i can cut it

Re: parts help

With that aside all u need is ur stock t.b, a few feet of wire and some knots , some thin gasket materl for the i.a.c, some thick gasket material for the t.b, a bracket made to mount the coil pack, a bracket made to relocate i.a.c if hood clearance is an issue if not there's a spot right at the top of your windstar you can put it, some rubber heater hose and fitting/ and ford part no. 9433 for the upper lower gasket you dont need the acual ford ones just so you have an ide also regardless of where you put the i.a.c you have to close the hole at the top of the throttle body to close off the stock port to your old intakes i.a.c location and your going to have to make a bracket to move the throttle cable over. other than that the link will walk you through the rest and you can buy pretty much everything you need from vap auto or a machine shop hope this helps bro

ok then your going to have to get a e.g.r bracket from a 96-98 windstar some aluminium heater hose some clamps and a thin sheet of aluminum and you need to cut a few inches out of your e.g.r tube use aluminum heater hose and sheet aluminum to bridge the gap you cut and another little bracket made for the little square e.g.r thing and you also need an air intake its up to you but i made sure mine got the filter 99% into the fender wall i couldn't however use a heat sheild

Oil feed and return line.. there is a nut but you oil filter its under pressure so that's where your feed line will need to go and your return line gets tapped into the oil pan above the oil level ... Okay you'll need a y pipe as well cause you can't hook a turbo up to only one side of a v6 nor v8 engine it will pull to much off one side and mess up engine completely..

Re: parts help

the e.g.r is in its stock location but if you use the windstar e.g.r bracket in the stock location it sits a good bit lower thats why you have to cut a lenght out the tube and use aluminum heater hose and sheet aluminium to bridge it those two hoses are for the i .a.c one at the top goes right to the air intake the one at the bottom goes to a brass fitting under the throttle port
