Question....

Racing on the drag strip is it safe to manually shift my automatic transmission for my 2000 v6 mustang?

Yes but why?.. Your car will shift itself just fine on it's own!.. You more than likely will be slowing it down manually shifting it!...

Tuner shifts me at 30 mph, 50, 85 and 110 when I just punch the gas

Depending on what type of tuner you have you might be able to play with the shift points and pressure a bit!.. But I wouldn't suggest doing it too much!.. And only do so in small increments!..

I wouldn't change shift points. There are people who make a living deciding what points your tranni should shift based on what rpms your engine makes the most power. Unless you have moded your car and you know what you are doing. Shift pressures can be adjusted a little but. The factory setting makes your car more comfortable due to the slower shifts. A sport tune normally stiffens up the shift pressures for you so I wouldn't go much firmer without modding your tranni's valve body to allow faster fluid flow.

I would contact whoever the tunes came from, express your concerns then inquire about an update. You have to remember all cars are different and react differently especially when talking about a canned tune v. a CDT. My point is it May need a little tweaking to get the car exactly where you want it, but unless your experienced leave the tweaking to the pro's.
