Another stupid post about hoods...

Ohhhh I am getting tired of chasing "deals" that slip through my fingers by a day or two... 6 GT hoods in 3 weeks were sold before I called, but the damn ads were still in Craigslist. I hate that...

So now I'm looking at aftermarket hoods... I want to know which manufacturers I should STAY AWAY FROM!

Someone has bought an aftermarket hood and been mad as hell because it was a piece of crap. That is what I want to know about, the ones to avoid.

I kinda like these.........

1999-2004 Ford Mustang Heat Extractor Hood

GTS-III Mustang Ram Air Hood (1999-2004)

Any thoughts?

Wher are you located? My buddy is selling his stock 03 gt hood for $300. That's the lowest he'd take for it. He's located in Owensboro ky.

On the 99-04 body style I think the cobra style like #1 in the OP or the classic style cowl look amazing. I have bought from Cervinis before and always had the best of luck with their stuff. I like this one

Unfortunately I'm in Watertown, South Dakota... after shipping I'd be in the same price range as an aftermarket...

I really want a hood with additional clearance in the center, where my throttle body connects to my windstar. I'm starting to look at cowl induction now...

Ugh, it's hard to commit to something I can't see in person... 2-3 photos just don't show enough detail.

$399 actually! Don't know about shipping though. Could be outrageous.

Re: Another stupid post about hoods...

I FOUND MY HOOD!!! Smooth with no scoop, genuine Ford hood!!!

From what he (the body shop owner) was able to learn, the 1999 GT Hood that was used at first had a hood scoop was applied with double sided tape. Too many were ripped off at the car wash, or lost on the highway while blazing down the road at 150 MPH. Within the first few months following the release of the 1999 GT they switched over to a bolt-on hood scoop that was used through 2004.

My bodyshop located one of these "blank" hoods in a warehouse in Detroit. It is on it's way here now, $345 shipped.

YAHOOOOOOO !!!

If he screwed this up I am gonna be mad as hell.... LOL (not really LOL)

kinda like that, but without the small vents at the rear I guess

I just want my car to look different but I also want to appear subdued rather than radical...

I'm old, eh
