V6 engine

If I put a flowmaster v6 converter dual exhaust on a 2000 what other mods would I have to make? Like to the engine?

Re: V6 engine

Nothing; just make sure to get chambered mufflers, not a straight-through design or you'll likely get droned to death. Straight-throughs work better on 300HP+ engines in my experience. An x-pipe will help with performance and sound, including drone. I prefer Borlas but go with the sound you like best.

I want to go with this one because it's a flowmaster. If you say I don't need anything that's awesome then. So I won't be needing long tube headers

Re: V6 engine

Yeah, those are chambered mufflers so you should be good go. FYI: I had Midas install mine and they fabricated an x-pipe for me for like $50. On another car, I used a $30 x-pipe off of eBay and they both worked great.

Re: V6 engine

don't buy a y pipe kit...they never produce the sound your car is capable of....either buy a mid pipe adapter to run a GT catback or go to an exhaust shop and have them make you one. do it right the first time

Re: V6 engine

Agreed, for the amount of money you are spending on a ready-made exhaust, you could get something far better custom made to fit your car at an exhaust shop.

Even having an H pipe fabricated and buying a complete GT catback is a better alternative than going with the example shown above.

Just my 2 cents...
