windstar kit, melting egr silicone hose, will this work

ive replaced the silicone hose twice now, the one that came with the kit lasted a few months then blew out after getting cooked and verry brittle. the one thats on there now is actually getting hot and smoking. im wanting to try to use the piece i origionally cut out by joining with some type of compression fitting. anyone know it something like this will work. Shop GatorBITE Push Fit 1/2" x 1/2" Removable Coupling at Lowes.com

Idk but it won't hurt nothing to try it... Most use aluminium heater hose instead of that silicone hose ... I have dine a lot of research on that mod cause I was about to tackle doing it..

Go with a PVC pipe with intake.

That windstar intake is a bad design. That's why I say go with h/c/I. And a cold air intake.

Re: windstar kit, melting egr silicone hose, will this work

I used 1/2" copper plumbing elbows and tubing. I sealed it with 3000 degree fireplace sealant I picked up at Menards (Lowes or Home Depot have it too). It cured as hard as a rock and appears to be working just fine. Total cost was under $10.
