Most shops should do it pretty cheap. I had my duals dumped just before the rear axle. Cost me like $20 for my shop to weld on some turndowns.

Re: 2001 3.8L exhaust system

To the OP:

I believe a stock 94-98 GT catback will fit a 99-04 v6 car...but as said you'll have to either get the stock h-pipe from the GT or a pacesetter midpipe adapter for the v6 that let's you bolt up any GT catback. They run about $129.

To Horseplay:

Yes dumping exhaust on a v6 will probably make it sound better, as the exhaust reverberating off the ground makes a deeper tone. It's definitely a good thing to do if you only have one pipe or if you have a v6 bumper without the cutouts.

Mine didn't get any loader outside the car, but the drone inside has increased quite a bit and it sucks on the highway. I don't think it sounds better either and the only reason I did it was because after I lowered the car the axle was hitting the exhaust arches.

Eh, there's a ton of guys out there with GT's and Machs who dumped their exhaust or went with side pipes and left their stock bumper on so it won't be unheard of, and it doesn't look too bad...I've always said if you have the cutouts have the tips, but if you plan on getting duals I wouldn't worry about it for the time being.
