My flat hood ain't so flat...

So... my hood arrived at the body shop yesterday.

He opened the box and called me.

Him: "John"?
Me: "Yeah"
Him: "Umm your hood is here... it's not what I expected"
Me: "So... what, it has holes in it"?
Him "Umm yeah, never seen a hood like this before..."
Me: "Vents point forward like my old hood? Or rearward towards the windshield?
Him: "Umm yeah, to the back"
Me: "Sounds like a Cobra hood...."
Me: "Got a part number? What does the label say"?
Him: 3R3Z 16612 AA
Me: "Google says 2004 Cobra"

Yup... the '99 "blank" hood that was ordered somehow turned into an '04 Cobra hood...

Me: " (Insert long string of profanities here) Genuine Ford Cobra hood for $350? Okay, I'll keep it..."

Re: My flat hood ain't so flat...

I'm keeping it, a hood was the last piece I needed to complete the car after the deer accident in mid December. The body line that wraps around the car from headlight to headlight is calling to me, begging me to paint another color above it...

I have pretty much decided I am going to do it, just haven't committed to a color yet... So far Mineral Grey top with Silver sides is winning.

I love the mineral grey. Mine is that color, but I'm toying with doing the top black.

It's an awesome color my first mustang was the mineral gray then when I repainted it when I got my auto body degree .. I mixed it a couple shades darker and it still looked awesome.. I got an bright Atlantic blue one now and gonna two tone it with a brilliant black .. its a black that has blue metallic in it
