Engine

Question guys. I want to take my 6out and put in a new engine. Likely an 8. How difficult would you think this would be to do?

You need a lot of different parts, and a good bit of time and know how. Its not an easy task.

Re: Engine

Just pump the 6 up. no expects them to beat the V8 but it is possible. especially since alot the of the gt's and other v8 powered cars are ussually stock.(atleast where I live, trucks are more popular where i'm at). I think it does cost more though, but I think it'd be worth it.

But.....if you have someone who knows what they are doing, then you can learn a lot about your car and engine by doing a swap. Depends how much time and money you have to sink into the project.

Re: Engine

I would only advise the swap if you have a donor car cuz as said before you need a few parts and there gonna add up as you go if you could find a donor wreck for like 1500 its soooo worth it cuz youll have everything you need

Sell the 6 and buy an 8. Never got it. Why do folks want to convert low caliber cars into high performance? Hmmmmm, Wake up Einstein, answer the question.

Why did you turn your 5.0 mustang into something fast? Those mustangs aren't really that high caliber... You're trying to compete with a higher power mustang with a less powerful stock motor. It's all about turning something that started out slow into something faster. Yes, some people think that V6s aren't worth it, but some people like taking the challenge that others think is worthless and expensive.

Re: Engine

The only thing transfering is the engine. When the owner get to the insurer, its all about the vin numer. Its a V6, nothing else. No Stang enthusaist buys a V6 cept a vert. Get real.
