Re: Bigger engine

nope not at all. they may not sound as good as a V8 but there far from those ricer fart cannons. A cam will also make a huge difference, but some require computer and spring mods. the best exhaust i've seen are the flow 40's and something called spintech prostreet i've seen more flow 40's videos though and more people use them and say they sound good.
Long tube headers are also suppose to make a difference.
or if your mustang already has spit port you could just swap in a 4.2 out of f-150 and get some more power out of that, or just buy the internals for a f-150 and put them in your V6. then the Windstar intake would also help. I haven't heard much but they say they flow better or something.

Longtubes and a cam can drastically change the sound of your six for the better.

Re: Bigger engine

new 4cylinders would probably smoke a stock 94-98 v6 stang. 94-98's only have a 145hp(correct me if i'm wrong) alot of 4 cyl nowadays are running 200+. 1999-2004 3.8's had 190 and that was mostly due to the split port heads. HOWEVER if you look on other forums(maybe even on these forums to) there are some V6 stangs super charged or turboed that have 400+

Yes a cobalt would smoke a 94. It's really how sad how under powered the 94-98 sixes are. The 99-2010 are better but Ford didn't get its v6's to where they need to be until the 2011. Sucks but at least they are on the right path now.

Yeah my gf has a cobalt 4 cyl and it's pretty quick for a 4 cyl. Of course I smoke it easily but I'm in a above average ( I like to think at least ) 99 mustang. 94-98 was really underpowered. Her cobalt wouldn't smoke ur stang, but would possibly beat you. Would probably be close.

What makes it even sadder is that cobalts are pos's. If she was with me when getting a car it woulda been a ford don't worry guys Chevy... Ew.. She has sank around 1500$ into it when the car was only 5 years old.. My 13 year old car has had 50$ put into it.. For spark plugs
