98 and 99-04 3.8L differences

Ok, so I was on Americanmuscle and noticed that they didn't have headers for a 98 v6 anymore like they used too. The ones they carried were shortys also. So I decided to look at the 99-04 headers and noticed that they carried long tubes for those v6 engines. What's the difference in the two engines? Could I use the ones for the 99 mustang even though I have a 98?
